Face / Wrinkle-Smoothing Injections
Tackle signs of ageing, such as fine lines and wrinkles with our range of positive-ageing wrinkle-smoothing treatments and regain a more youthful, smoother appearance.
As we age, our skin becomes thinner and wrinkles form in the areas where we put most pressure on the skin, which are usually our expression lines such as frowning and laughing.
Popular since the 1980s, injectable treatments revolutionised the cosmetic industry and with their remarkable results and little or no downtime, they still remain the most popular aesthetic treatment worldwide.
The treatment tackles fine lines and wrinkles by using a purified protein called Botulinum Toxin, which relaxes contracted muscles, resulting in smoother, wrinkle -free skin. The purified protein works by blocking the transition of chemical messages from the nerve to the muscle, so the muscle stays in a relaxed state for approximately 3-4 months.
Benefits of wrinkle-smoothing injections:

Results can appear after 3 days and continue to develop for up to two weeks
4 months
No recovery
You will meet with your medically-qualified wrinkle-smoothing injector who will take your medical history, explain the treatment process and go through the informed-consent form.
The treatment area will be thoroughly cleansed and your medically-qualified expert will mark up the injection points with a cosmetic pencil. The treatment is carried out with a very fine needle and small amounts of botulinum toxin are injected into specific muscles, which are then weakened, preserving your natural facial expressions.
You may notice some slight redness immediately after your treatment, but this tends to be minimal and resolves quickly.
Your practitioner will advise you about your post-treatment care and will give you an advice leaflet to take home with you. Please contact us if you have any further questions after your treatment.
The treatment takes about twenty minutes and results can be seen after a few days, with the full effect achieved within two weeks.
You may notice some slight redness around the injection points immediately after treatment, but this tends to be minimal and resolves quickly. Your medical-practitioner will go through full post-treatment aftercare with you, including avoiding alcohol, heat such as saunas or hot baths and strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
Wrinkle-smoothing injections are made of botulinum toxin (commonly referred to by the brand name BOTOX®), a naturally occurring product. It is produced by clostridium botulinum bacteria. Although there are number of Botulinum Toxin prescription products available on the market, at Aspire Clinic, we offer Allergan’s Botox ®, which is the original and we believe the best Botulinum Toxin product.
No. Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which are injected under the skin to fill out lines and wrinkles, add volume and refresh the skin. Wrinkle-smoothing injections use Botulinum Toxin, a natural muscle relaxant that works by blocking nerve signals to muscles, restricting movement and preventing the muscles from creasing up.
At Aspire we pride ourselves on natural looking results. Our treatments to tackle fine lines and wrinkles reduce muscle movement, not prevent it. For new patients, we will always start by administering a small amount of product and then invite patients back for a review in two weeks to assess whether a top up is required. All of Aspire’s reviews and top ups are free of charge.
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome, a condition characterised by pain in the jaw joint, can be relieved with Botulinum Toxin. Causes of the condition include injury to the teeth or jaw, teeth grinding, poor posture, stress and arthritis. Botulinum Toxin is injected into key areas of the masseter muscle that contribute to TMJ syndrome to relax the muscle and relieve the pain.
Immediately after the treatment, there may be some slight redness and swelling at the injection site, which usually subsides within 48 hours. Bruising is also possible – some medications can increase the risk of this, so patients may be advised to stop taking these before the treatment.
Potential side effects include temporary injection-site reactions such as:
Side effects normally subside within a week.
