The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance is a quick, superficial salicylic acid-based facial peel that exfoliates and helps improve overall complexion. It provides tighter, smoother, brighter-looking skin after just one use.

1. Your Consultation
Prior to treatment, you will have a consultation with your practitioner who will go through the treatment process with you and complete a general medical form with you. You can then have your treatment immediately following consultation.

The face will be cleansed of all of make-up and a protective barrier of gel to the most sensitive parts of your face such as the corners of the mouth and eyes will be applied. The first layer of peel solution will then be sponged on and during this time the patient may experience a hot and tingly sensation for about 30 seconds to a minute. A second layer of the solution will be applied after the sensation has reduced. This will be left on the skin for up to 10 minutes. The remnants of the solution will be sponged off the skin and a high factor of sun block is applied at the end of the treatment.

Stay hydrated and go about your normal daily routine. Apply a high factor SPF. Post treatment, the skin can appear red for up to 24-48 hours and may start flaking or peeling, this is a normal part of the skin’s recovery process.

The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance works by using Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid to decongest, brighten and smoothen the skin’s natural texture. The skin peel will do this by shedding the dead skin cells out the pores to decongest the skin which encourages the skin to begin cell renewal to gain youthful complexion.
The skin peeling associated with the Blue Peel Radiance is a very light one. Peeling usually starts around days 2-3 after your peel. By days 7 to 10, your skin should be healed. The peeling is easily hidden by moisturizer. In some cases, the peel is virtually invisible.
The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance is suitable for most skin types and tones, including oily, dry, and combination skin. It’s also suitable for people with acne, blemishes, or sun damage. It is not suitable for pregnant women, patients on roaccutane or those who have active sunburn.
