What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is a skin booster and remodelling non-surgical injectable treatment made up of hyaluronic acid to improve skin quality, firmness and hydration.

Whilst hyaluronic acid comprises 78% of the body’s skin and is the element that retains moisture to hydrate the skin, the body’s natural ability to regenerate hyaluronic acid decreases with age. This results in skin losing elasticity and becoming saggy.

Hyaluronic acid draws and holds water from your body, meaning that Profhilo acts as a hydrator rather than a filler. This is an ideal solution for tired, dull-looking skin, transforming it into firm and luminous skin.

Benefits of Profhilo:

  • Simulates skin’s own collagen and elastin production
  • Improves skin tone
  • Hydrates skin
  • Improves appearance of fine lines
  • Helps with skin laxity and sagging skin
  • Improves overall radiance

2. Treatment Plan

When you come in for treatment, your face will be thoroughly cleansed and make up removed. The medical-practitioner uses fine needles to inject Profhilo into five key points on the face. The procedure is generally well-tolerated and mostly pain-free, though you might feel a slight sting at the injection site. If this is your first Profhilo treatment, it is recommended that this treatment is repeated after four weeks.

Your Questions Answered

If this is your first time having the treatment, Profhilo is injected just below the skin’s surface over 2 sessions 4 weeks apart. Profhilo disperses quickly beneath the skin to improve hydration, without any need for massage or risk of leaving lumps or nodules. Profhilo is absorbed within a 2cm radius of its injection site, so to treat the face only 10 injection points are needed in total.

A single course of Profhilo involves 2 injectable treatments 4 weeks apart, after which you can expect to see an intense hydration. After a single course (two treatments) courses (two treatments 4 weeks apart) can be repeated every six months to maintain results. Alternatively, single treatments can be administered every three months over the course of a year.

As with all injectable treatments there is a small of minor bruising or swelling at the injection sites. These do not usually occur and generally subside quickly when they do.

Profhilo is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or people who are allergic to Hyaluronic Acid.

Dermal fillers add volume to the face, while Profhilo improves skin quality and hydration.
